Brenda Marie Navarro

Brenda Biafora Navarro was born in Glendale CA., the eldest of six children. She graduated from Our Lady of Peace Elementary School and graduated from Bishop Alemany High School in Sepulveda, CA, in 1966, where she was a member of the National Honor Society, Latin Club, and Pep Club. She went on to University of California at Davis and was a Political Science Major and graduated Cum Laude. She furthered her education at Santa Clara University where she received a Master's Degree in Education and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She then married Romualdo Navarro in 1971 and had two children, Romualdo Giuseppe and Rayna Stephanie. She worked at Mission College in Santa Clara and retired after 25 years as an Administrative Director. She then embarked with her many charitables organization of which she was very active with and they meant so much to her. She founded and was director of the Depression BiPolar Support Alliance Napa Chapter and the Family Friends Group. She was instrumental with Mental Awareness throughout Solano and Napa County. She was a member of the Napa Board of Health and the Napa Coalition of Nonprofits. She attended State and National Conferences every year for the Depression Bipolar Support Alliance based in Chicago. It was her deep passion and she helped hundreds of people. She also spent her time as an active member with Holy Family in San Jose and Saint Dominic's in Benicia. She was a Eucharist Minister and administered Holy Communion to the sick and those incarcerated. She was involved in all the parish activities especially Thanksgiving Dinner and the Christmas donation for the poor. She loved Christmas. She loved to travel and go out to long dinners with her fiance James Joseph Blake and Starbucks was a daily stop where she met many friends. She loved James, her sister and best friend Linda, her life long friend Jackie Mahone and her children. Never a day went by without loving Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary. She is survived by her finace, James Joseph Blake; her children, Romualdo Giuseppe and Rayna Navarro; parents, Joseph and Stefi Biafora of Northridge CA; siblings, Linda Spinella, Diana Sparagna, Joseph Biafora Jr., Stephen Biafora, and Ruth Ann Biafora; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews. Vigil services will be held 7 p.m., Thursday at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m., Friday at St. Dominic's Church. Burial will be in St. Dominic's Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers will be accepted in memory of Brenda Navarro at DBSA California/Riverside, to the Attention of Joanne Martin 16280 Whispering Spur, Riverside CA 92504.
