Diane M. Stevens October 13, 1941 – August 4, 2025 Diane M. Stevens of Benicia, California, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on October 13, 1941, Diane lived a life filled with warmth, laughter, and a deep devotion to her family, friends, and community. Diane was known for her strong spirit and kind heart. She served her community faithfully as a mail carrier in American Canyon for many years, always greeting her neighbors with a smile and a kind word. Her love for people extended beyond her route—she was a loyal friend, a caring neighbor, and someone who always lent a helping hand, especially when it came to animals in need. She cherished her wonderful neighbors in Benicia and considered them part of her extended family. She had a deep affection for her pets, including her beloved dog, Niner, and her cats, Scarlet and Angel. Diane was an avid sports fan and could always be found cheering on her favorite teams—the San Francisco Giants, the 49ers, and especially the Golden State Warriors. She loved going to baseball games with her son, Don, and her friend Joe. Her faith was important to her, and she found great comfort and community at St. Dominic's. Diane had a zest for life and loved taking road trips. She especially cherished these adventures with her husband, kids, and dogs. Some of her fondest memories were spent racing boats alongside her husband, John, who preceded her in death in 1996. She also carried the deep loss of her son, John Walter Stevens, who passed away in 2020, and her grandson, Ryan Francis Stevens, who passed away in 2006. She is survived by her loving son, Don Stevens; her cherished grandson, John Michael Stevens; and her dear brothers, Larry Macedo and Wally Macedo. Diane’s legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched with her generosity, her strength, and her unwavering love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 11:00, St. Dominic Catholic Church, 475 East I Street, Benicia, California. Following the service there will be a reception at the Benicia Yacht Club, 400 East 2nd Street, Benicia, California.
