Robert "Bob" Poggi

Robert “Bob” Poggi was born on 10/30/1951 to Bernice & Enrico “Henry” Poggi. Bob passed away on December 10th, 2023, from complications of a known heart condition. Bob’s wife Cynthia Poggi, son Steven Robert Poggi, and son Jeffrey John Poggi were with him at the time of his passing. Bob’s passing has been incredibly heartbreaking to his family and friends. We miss his presence every day. Bob was born and raised in San Francisco California. Bob’s father worked at the San Francisco Zoo, and Bob, whom the family referred to as “Robbie John”, had the entire Zoo as his playground. During Bob’s teenage years, he enjoyed motorcycles, camping, and fishing. Bob even attempted to restore an old gold mine with some of his friends. Bob had a very adventurous spirit, which the City of San Francisco and the surrounding wildness feed. In 1982 Bob married his first wife Karen Gibbs who also shared a love for the outdoors. Bob and Karen spent their honeymoon camping all over the High Sierra and had two children Steven Poggi in 1984, and Jeffrey Poggi in 1989. Bob loved his children immensely. The boys remember their father fondly wrestling at home, playing chase in the park, and going on walks with the family dogs. Bob was always a wiz with mechanical devices. Repairing his motorcycles, and other vehicles, and making a career out of heating/cooling. Bob could repair and build anything relating to heating and cooling. He worked for a long time installing commercial walk-in boxes and eventually opened his own business, RJ Poggi Manufacturing, where he would build the equipment and install it on-site. Bob lived life on his terms, and eventually, those terms led him to meet, Cynthia Briceida Sanchez Camacho. Many nights of laughter and love culminated up to March 6th, 2023, when they became happily married. The last part of Bob's life was filled with music, dancing, and love. Bob is survived by his wife Cynthia Briceida Poggi (CA), sons Steven (Erin) Poggi (MO), and Jeffrey Poggi (MO), Step-Grand Children Megan Murray (MO), Piper Murray (MO). Also survived by his sister, Karin Hunt (OR), and nephews David Hunt (OR) and Timothy Hunt (Kim) (PA). The extended family includes Krystal Hunt & Owen Castro (PA), Andrew Hunt (CA), and Emily Hunt (CA). Also survived by relatives in Mexico; Jose Sanchez, Haydee Camacho, Angelly Jacobo, and Michel Jacobo. Bob was preceded in death by his father Enrico Poggi, mother Bernice Hasselroth, and stepmother Annette Blomquist.
