Alberta M. Brietzke

July 10, 1930 - March 21, 2021

Alberta Mae Brietzke passed away on March 21 following a short illness. Alberta was born and raised in Chicago where she enjoyed going to the famed Chicago Theater to watch movies and watch intermission’s live entertainment featuring many stars of the era. Gathering autographs of many who performed there including – Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and Desi Arnaz to name a few. She met her future husband Robert G. Brietzke and married in 1951. In 1966 they moved to Fairfield as Bob was involved with air refueling stationed at Travis Air Force Base. She raised two wonderful children Mike Brietzke and Patty (Doug) Knoll. She worked as an inspector of explosives at Explosive Technology which packed explosive charges for the military as well as NASA and was involved with the Apollo rocket programs. She retired and eventually moved to Benicia where she spent 14 wonderful years at Rancho Benicia living close to her daughter and son-in-law. She enjoyed sewing, Bingo, visiting the casinos, shopping with her daughter Patty, watching Fox News while playing computer games, and baking cookies. Interment will be private at St. Rose Court, St. Dominic’s Cemetery Benicia. The family would like to especially thank the Benicia Fire Department for the times they responded to her home for assistance, Benicia Family Dentistry for their personal attention to Alberta, Sutter Solano Hospice for their compassion and guidance, and the Benicia Angels Home for their care in her final journey.
