Alicia Carrubba Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Alicia Carrubba, 74, passed away Thursday at her home in Benicia surrounded by family. Mrs. Carrubba was born to Jose Luis Torres and Enriqueta Bonilla on Aug. 10, 1937, in La Union, El Salvador. She lived in Benicia for the past 25 years. She was employed for various firms throughout the years, including the Archdiocese of San Francisco, Catholic Social Service of San Francisco, and Utah International in San Francisco. Primarily, Mrs. Carrubba was a homemaker and child care provider to her family. Mrs. Carrubba was an active member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Benicia, serving in many capacities including with the Catholic Social Service Auxiliary and the Lazarus Ministry. She also volunteered for both Kaiser Hospice Respite Care and Ombudsman Services of No. Cal. Advocate for the Elderly. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Natalia and Raymond Diaz; her parents, Jose Luis and Maria Torres and Enriqueta Bonilla; her half-sister Mercedes de Montalvan; her half-brother Antonio Diaz; and her husband, Filippo. Survivors include her daughters, Teresa Cano (Frank) and Christina Carrubba (Talia); sons, David Palomo (Craig) and Michael Palomo (Margaret); stepdaughter, Phyllis Aponte (Robin); stepsons, Philip (Gary), Paul (Tere) and Perry Carrubba; half-sisters, Margarita Torres and Ana Maria Vargas; half-brothers, Edgar, Richard and Carlos Torres and Carlos Martinez; grandchildren, Ashley, Tricia, Stephanie, Kate, Michael, Miranda, Brittany, Calista, and Evan; and great-grandchildren, Christopher and Kylie. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., followed by a memorial vigil service at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel, 901 West Second St., Benicia. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012, at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, 475 East I St., Benicia. Inurnment will be private at Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery in Dixon.
