Bernard Basilio Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Bernard “Uncle Nonoy” Basilio passed away suddenly on Friday morning (December 24, 2021). Bernard arrived in the United States in July 1973 and was a Navy Veteran. Following the Navy, Bernard worked at the U.S. Post Office for 34 years retiring in 2012. Traveling was his passion, and he had a chance to see much of the world in his later years. Bernard was very intelligent and often coined as the smartest person in his family. Although not an avid tennis player himself, he was a huge fan and fulfilled a lifelong dream of attending Wimbledon at the London Olympics in 2012. His family will miss his unfiltered, up front, and in-your-face sense of humor. Most of all, Bernard had a best friend, his name is Cole who is his loving dog and companion. Anytime you saw Bernard, chances are Cole was right by his side. Bernard is survived by his twin sister Marilou, his nephews Brian (Sherilyn) and Justin (Masha). His brother Jonathan (Abby), his nephews Jason and Joshua, and great nephew Chasin. His loving K-9 companion Cole is at a loss without him. The visitation will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022, beginning at 1:00 PM followed by a Vigil service at 7:00 PM at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel, 901 West 2nd Street, Benicia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on January 7, 2022 at the Church of St. Dominic, 475 East I Street, Benicia. Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery, 550 Glen Cove Road, Vallejo.
