Betty Lou Veien passed away July 31st in a local hospital following a brief illness. She was a native of Benicia and after raising her family in Southern California, she returned to her hometown. Betty Lou loved spending time with her family, travelling, rooting for her Oakland Raiders, watching the Price is Right and was finally able to see her beloved Chicago Cubs win the World Series. Betty Lou is survived by her children, Stacey Montano (Steve), Catherine Sloan (Frank), Sharon Wilson (Mike) and Ronald Sloan (Anne)., her grandchildren: Michael Garcia, Lauren Garcia, Sheila Montano (Dustin), Sarah Nevaraz (Rick), Hannah Wilson, Mollie Wilson, Spencer Sloan and Ella Sloan: her great grandchildren, Dylan, Ricky, Jacob, Steven, Daniel and Angie, along with a town full of nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones. Betty Lou is preceded in death by her daughter Sheila, her parents, Arthur and Helen, her brother Kenneth, her sister Kathleen and her beloved husband Danny. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, September 1st at 11:00 a.m. at St. Dominic’s Church. Burial will be held immediately after the mass, with a reception to follow at her beloved B.D.E.S. Portuguese Hall. Arrangements are under the direction of Passalacqua Funeral Chapel.
