Catherine A. "Kay" Colvert

July 18, 1927 - October 12, 2014

Catherine A. "Kay" Colvert passed away Sunday in a local care home following a long illness. She was born in San Francisco and has been an Antioch resident for the past 14 years. She earning her Masters degree in Psychiatric Social Work from UC Berkeley and completed studies at Columbia University in New York and the Dominican School of Philosophy &Theology in Berkeley. She was a Licensed Clinic Social Worker. In more than 40 years of service to others she worked as a supervisor in many agencies including: the Family Welfare Association in London, England, Catholic Social Services of San Francisco, San Mateo County Welfare Department, and the Santa Clara County Child Welfare Department. She is survived by Dominic, her husband of 54 years; sons Celac Albert (Gretel) Colvert and Gavin Terrance (Danielle) Colvert; brother Fr. Albert Antoninus Wall O.P.and Brendan (Alita) Wall and her grandchildren Brendan, Gabrielle and Bridget. She was preceded in death by her brother Fr. Kevin Wall O.P. and her sister Margaret Wall Driscoll. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 12:30 p.m. Friday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. at St. Dominic's Church, 2390 Bush Street, San Francisco. Burial will be private at St. Dominic's Cemetery, Benicia.
