Cleo Hayes, 84, passed away Tuesday in a Sacramento hospital following a long illness. He was born in Danbury, Iowa and lived in Benicia for more than 50 years before moving to Burney in 1994. Cleo was a Painting Contractor in the Benicia/Vallejo area for over 50 years. He retired in 1994. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He is survived by JoAnn, his wife of 65 years; sons Mark (Patty) Hayes of Georgia and Brian (Sara) Hayes of Lodi; daughter Marcia (Nick) Metoyer of Redding; grandchildren Michael, Kimberly, Jerome & Elizabeth and his great grandchildren Brannigan & Payton. Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel. Burial will be private. Family prefers donations to St. Dominic's Church.
