Daniel F. Carter

Daniel F. Carter, 69, passed away in a local care home following a long illness. He was born in Detroit, Michigan and has lived in Benicia for the past 20 years. Dan was a veteran of the Vietnam War and he worked as a Private Investigator for more than 25 years. Dan won several awards and was a decorated marksman and he enjoyed photography and cooking. He was a member of the Martinez Reserve Police Officers and was a fan of Detroit sports, especially the Tigers and Red Wings and will be remembered by his family and friends as having a huge and generous heart. Dan is survived by his son Ben (Jean-Marie Hammett) Carter, daughter Courtney Carter; brothers Ernest, Robert & Arthur Carter ; his brother in law Emilio Rodriquez and his grandchildren Beverly, Jacob, Luke, Sarah & Abigail. He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly Ann Clements in 1992. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held 11:00 Thursday at Oakmont Memorial Park, Lafayette. Memorial services will be held later the afternoon at 4:00 at First Baptist Church, 1055 Southampton Road, Benicia with Pastor Scott Henning officiating.
