Darren John Melandez, age 54, passed away on July 27, at Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo after a short Illness. Darren was born in Benicia on May 2, 1967, to Larry and Elaine Melandez. He was a graduate of Armijo High School and was the owner of Melandez Landscaping for the last several years. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry, mother Elaine and sister Kimberly Vann. He is survived by his nephew and niece, Theo and Elena Vann, his Aunt Cheena and Uncle Rod Gutierrez, Cousins Rod, John, Mike and Billy Gutierrez and his friends Bobby, Slay, Vincent and his dog Maddie. He will be remembered by his Trustees Roger Williams, Linda Purdy and Francine Mac Millian. A memorial service will be held on August 7 at 2:00 PM at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel, 901 West 2nd Street.
