Gloria A. Alsheimer
November 1, 1922 - December 12, 2019
Gloria Auener Alsheimer was born and raised in Oscoda, Michigan. During her years at Central Michigan University, she met her future husband Robert while he was taking classes to become a naval pilot. On Gloria’s graduation day, Robert proposed. The two were married the following year on June 15th, 1946 and had two children: Bob and Carol. Gloria was a PE teacher in Michigan for over 30 years. She also occasionally modeled. In 1988 they relocated to California to be closer to family and Gloria quickly became an active member of her community. She served on the Pleasant Hill Senior Citizens Committee where one of her greatest accomplishments was being an integral part of starting a transportation program for seniors which still continues today. She spent her spare time keeping up with the stock market, reading, knitting, playing bridge and spending time with her family. To know her was to love her. She will be deeply missed by her children Bob Alsheimer, Carol (Timothy) O’Malley, her grandchildren Matt Petullo, Chris Petullo, and Kayte (David) Clark, and her great grandchildren Brooklyn and Ryan Clark. A Celebration of Life will be held at Northgate Christian Fellowship on January 18th, 2020 at 11am.
