Kim L. Davis
October 17, 1947 - September 24, 2018
Kim Louise Davis passed away peacefully at her home in Benicia following a 7 year battle with breast cancer and from complications of a stroke on 8/1/18. She was raised in Westchester (CA), not far from her birth place of Culver City. Since 1974 she has called Benicia her home. A homemaker and loving mother. Kim loved being a mom. She enjoyed gardening and often giving the fruits of her labor to family, neighbors, and guests. She cooked and baked. Chocolate chip cookies were often given for birthdays and holidays; a family favorite treat. She treasured Benicia but also vacations to the family house in Bishop that her parents had built together. She loved nature. Often looking up birds, plants, and even bugs when she wasn't quiet sure what kind they were. Always keeping an eye out for local wild life wherever she was whether it was just in the backyard or out and about. She was a longtime member of St. Dominic’s Church being an extremely genuine, kind, caring, loving and giving person. Always thinking of others before herself. Her family never escaped her mind. She loved life and the people in it, documenting as much as she could in notes and pictures. She didn't want to miss a moment and loved hearing peoples stories whether she had just met them or have known them for years. A gentle soul with always kind words to say. Kim is survived by Jim, her husband of 49 years; her children Dale Davis, Dean (Kristy) Davis, Scott (Anna) Davis and Bonnie Davis; her brother Wes Crittenden; sister Susan Womack and her grandchildren Jake, Aubrey & Amber Davis and Kayleen & Maddie Whatley. She was preceded in death by her brother Gary Crittenden in 2016. Services for Kim was private and burial took place October 27th at St. Dominic’s Cemetery.
