Lamar Simpson Sr., 70, passed away unexpectedly Sunday in a Sacramento hospital. He was born in Georgia and has lived the past 12 years in Sacramento. He was a former Police Officer and Sheriff with San Francisco County. Lamar was a veteran of the Vietnam War from 1963-1965. He is survived by his mother Plumer Simpson; sons Lamar Simpson Jr. and Garrett Simpson; sisters Regina Natoli, Jackie Catnach and Denny Gonzales; brothers Kenny & Douglas Simpson and his grandchildren Kaitlyn, Ashlie & Lydia. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held 1:30 p.m., February 1st at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, CA.
