Louis Joseph Knobbe Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Louis J. Knobbe, 93, passed away Wednesday at his daughter's home in Benicia. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and has lived in Benicia for the past 11 years. He was a veteran of World War II and the United States Navy from 1942-1946. Louis worked in Newspaper Circulation for more than 25 years, beginning with the L.A. Times and San Gabriel Valley Tribune and finally with the Chico Enterprise. Louis was Past Exalted Ruler for Paradise Elks Lodge #2026 and he enjoyed gardening, fishing,and family time, especially with his grandchildren. He also had fun dressing up as Santa Claus for several charitable organizations over the years. He is survived by his children Cecelia (Paul) Cowles, Colleen Cardinalli, Sandra (Robert) Morton and Harry "Patrick" (Patty) Knobbe; grandchildren Rhonda Cowles, Nancy Cowles, Laura Cowles Cantrell, Kelly Knobbe, Ryan Knobbe, Troy Morgan, Wendy Morgan, Julie Munoz, Dianna Givens, Denise Pryor and Suzanne Rogers; 21 Great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife Myrtilla in December 2010, his grandchildren Stephanie Cowles, Kimberly Knobbe and Brandon Morgan and he was the last of 8 siblings. Graveside services will Military Honors will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon.
