Maxwell Webb Taylor Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Max Taylor, beloved son of David and Rhonda Taylor died unexpectedly after helping friends rebuild their home in Cambodia. He had been teaching English in Cambodia and had come to love the country and it's culture and people. Born in Walnut Creek, CA, Max moved with his family to Benicia in June 1991, attended local schools and graduated from Benicia High in 2007. Max completed his studies at SFSU in his areas of passion: English literature and art history. Max enjoyed a spirited intellectual discussion and loved art and literature. He found inspiration in his faith, which he lived out in service and kindness to others. As a younger child he wanted to be a pastor/missionary; as an adult he chose to be a teacher in a very poor country with plans to move on to other third world countries and help desperately poor people receive an education that would improve their lives. He is survived by his parents David and Rhonda Taylor of The Villages, Florida; his brother Ryan Taylor of Berkeley, CA; his "other mother and father" Phyllis and Dennis Gulbransen of Pleasant Hill CA; his grandmother Alice "Peggy" Webb of Richlands, Virginia; Uncles Jim Taylor, Geoff Taylor, John Ko and Charlie Nelson; Aunts Katherine Taylor, Johnelle Kushler, Gee Gee Connel, Sheree Ko and Tammie Nelson and numerous cousins and dear friends. He is missed by his family, his friends here and those he made as he traveled the world. Internment will be at the Benicia City Cemetery at 1PM on June 5, officiated by Pastor Gary Bell. A celebration of his life will follow at the church he grew up in, Benicia Lutheran, 201 Raymond Drive, also on June 5 at 3 PM, officiated by Pastor David Floyd.
