Orpha "Mickie" Perez

Orpha "Mickie" Perez, 73, passed away suddenly Friday in a local hospital. She was born in Laredo, Texas and raised in San Pablo. She was a former resident of Benicia and Cordelia before moving to Kelseyville in 2001. Mickie worked for Contra Costa County as Program Manager of the Neighborhood Preservation Program for over 25 years before retiring in 2001. She was honored by Senator Tom Torlakson when she retired in 2001 for all her hard work. Mickie was also Chairman of History Revisited from 1993-2008, a non-profit organization that operated a renaissance fair for the people of the central coast in San Luis Obispo. Mickie also spent a lot of time in Mexico in orphanages helping under privileged children. Mickie is survived by her husband Larry Gunn; children Joseph Mark, Maria Christina & Pedro Agapito Solis, stepchildren Larry Gunn Jr., Michael Raymond Gunn and Loic Philipe Gunn; sisters Naomi McMurray and Debra McAlear; brother Ike Perez; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 Thursday, January 9th at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Benicia Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
