Patricia J. “Patti” Harmon
October 1, 1955 - April 14, 2021
Patricia J. Harmon, 65, passed away on April 14 after a serious illness. She was a California native and thoroughly enjoyed exploring its mountains, lakes, and beaches. Patti’s work career was varied and included many years of service with Safeway Corporation and Mare Island Naval Shipyard. When the shipyard closed in 1996, she began training to learn new skills from the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley, after which she spent some time as a professional baker. Married for 29 years to Tom Harmon, they loved to travel, scuba dive and snorkel. Tom preceded her in death by 3 years. Patti was very creative and an accomplished photographer, wood carver, pen and ink sketcher, quilter, and seamstress. Her recent projects included learning to play the piano, voice lessons, wire-wrapping rocks, and creating personal notecards. She constantly sought new ways to challenge herself and was remarkably successful in any medium she chose to express herself. She is survived by a strong circle of close friends, her stepson Steven (Tania) Harmon and two grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held. Patricia was an avid supporter of the Humane Society and we suggest memorial gifts to that organization in lieu of flowers. Services will be private.
