Reginald S. "Reg" Saulsbury

Reginald S. “Reg” Saulsbury, 84, of Benicia passed away Saturday following a long illness. He was born in London, England, served in the British; 1st Bat. RIF; Army Intelligence. He moved to Benicia in 1968. Reg worked as an engineer for over 55 years, 20 of which he was owner of E & H Engineering and Design Services. His resume includes design and engineering work for oil refineries including Humble Oil (Exxon) in Benicia, as well as chemical and food processing plants throughout Great Britain, West Indies, USA, Hawaii and the Pacific Rim. Reg was a Charter Member of the Benicia Yacht Club, Benicia Rotary Club and the Society of Mechanical Engineers. He was a volunteer with Benicia Main Street and owned and operated Airam Antique Store on First Street. He enjoyed playing golf, pheasant hunting, gourmet cooking/entertaining, gardening sailing and his classic 1966 Jaguar E-Type. Reg is survived by his wife Maria (Dellanno); son Dean (Vicki Baggett) Saulsbury; a granddaughter and two great grandsons Larry & William. He is also survived by his brother Ronald (Anne), Sister-in-law Hilda and their families in England. Reg was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth. A “Celebration of Life” will be held on Saturday, July 15th, 2pm-5pm at the Benicia Yacht Club. In lieu of flowers, family prefers donations be made in Reg’s name to East Bay Hospice, The Hamman Cancer Foundation or American Cancer Society.
