Russell Joseph Casias
August 27, 1952 - September 5, 2017
Russell J. Casias died suddenly but peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, listening to his favorite '70's classic music in a local hospital. Russ was born in San Francisco, lived in Daly City and Pacifica and then called Benicia his home in 1979 where he raised two beautiful daughters. He enjoyed Reno trips, camping with his family and Izzy-dog and cheering on the San Jose Sharks hockey team. Russ self taught himself drawing and it became an enjoyable passionate hobby as well as being an accomplished handyman inside and outside his home. He was a friend/father figure that would anytime lend a compassionate ear for a lot of friends and family. Russell will be fondly remembered as a kind and gentle soul who loved and was loved by his family most dearly. The memory of Russell will live on through his beloved wife Lori Casias of 42 years and his loving daughters and son-in-laws, Jennifer (Nick) Raven and Wendy (Donnie) Dubois. The four grandchildren Brayden, Emily, Piper and Easton will dearly miss their Gee-Pee. Russell is survived by his mother, Armanda Casias and sister Phyllis Lazarek who reside in Benicia as well as many wonderful nieces, nephews and in-laws that were such an important part of his life. He is preceded in death by his father "Pete" Casias and his brother Roger Casias. A favorite Quote he had written down: When you were born you cried but the world rejoiced. Now go. Live your life honoring our ways. And when you are reborn to the Great Spirit the world will cry and you will rejoice. At his request, no services will be held
