Weldon L. Crow

Weldon Crow passed away June 6, 2013 after a long illness. He was born March 8, 1928 in Tipton, OK. He was the son of Francis M. Crow and Winnie Pope Crow. When he was a teenager, he came to CA and began an apprenticeship as a meatcutter, joined the Merchant Marine service for a year, and, came back to Vallejo as a butcher for the Macadee Markets for several years. He went on to own the New Vallejo Meat market, and for 27 years, the meat market in Market Town Grocery in Vallejo. In 1948, he married Shirlee Lomholdt with whom he had 7 children. Eventually, he opened Crow's Meats and the Napa Locker Plant, both in Napa. He also owned Allied Security Co., and, was vice president ABC Log Homes. When they retired, Weldon and Shirlee became fulltime RVers, having a wonderful time looking at the country and fishing as they traveled before settling down in Benicia, CA. Weldon is survived by his sister, Alma Hatcher of OK, and, children: Debbie, AZ, Steve, MT, Brian,CA, Julie, CA, Serena,CA, Paul, WA, Eric,AR, and, 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and his furry lapwarmer, Lucy. The family thanks the Kaiser Hospice for their warm, loving care, especially Nurse Sarene and Michelle. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Dominic's Church, Benicia, or, to the Kaiser Hospice would be appreciated. Memorial services will be held at 11 am, June 29, 2013 at St. Dominic's Church, Benicia with a reception to follow in the Rancho Benicia community room at 300 East H St., Benicia.
