Carol Joice Keating

Carol Joice Keating 12/15/1930 to 12/7/2024 Carol Joice Keating, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024, just days shy of her 94th birthday. Born and raised in San Francisco, California, Carol lived an exceptionally busy lifetime with her much-loved husband and partner in life, Robert Keating, who preceded her in death in 2007. Carol was a trailblazer whose life was defined by her passion, determination, and love for her family and community. An avid sportswoman, Carol played team tennis for over 30 years. She was also an accomplished horsewoman, competing in horse shows throughout California. She lived life to the fullest and always found time for her family, a successful Real Estate career, and a lifetime of community service. An active Realtor for over 40 years, Carol owned and managed Round Hill Realtors in Alamo, California, where she built a legacy of trust and excellence. A true leader in the industry, she guided countless families in finding their dream homes, always with her signature grace and professionalism. Carol also served as a Court-Appointed-Mediator, specializing in unresolved real estate disputes. Dedicated to the development of parks, Carol served two terms as President of the local Park District, two years as President of the California Association of Park Districts, and two terms as their State Legislative Advocate. Carol worked for California Governor Pat Brown on State Park Bond issues and Congressman George Miller Sr. on National Park issues. During her retirement years, Carol served over 4000 hours as President of the Auxiliary at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital ensuring their volunteers would meet the standards set by the National Joint Commission of Hospitals. Carol was a savvy businesswoman, a devoted friend, a mentor, and a community advocate. Her warmth, wisdom, and generosity touched the lives of many. She will be remembered for her unwavering work ethic, adventurous spirit, and the countless lives she enriched through her many passions. Carol is survived by her loving family, who will carry her legacy forward with pride. Barry (Maryann) Keating, Casey Keating, Randi (Richard Soderstrom) Strong-Petersen, Terry (James) Baldwin, and Steve (Rosa) Strong; 9 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 18th from 4-6 p.m. at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 19th, at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Benicia.
