Debra Carolyn Gee

Born Debra Carolyn Gee and known by many people as Debra or Debbie, she worked for the City of Benicia, was a loving sister, aunt, niece, giver and good friend. She passed peacefully on May 4th, 2021 at the age of 63. Debbie spent the 30 years of her career working for the City of Benicia. Her outstanding work ethic, dedication and genuine passion for her job was seen thru the eyes of her co-workers in those 30 years. Debbie was a tremendous leader and volunteer who touched many lives. Debbie was integrally involved in public service and held various officer positions with Soroptimist International of Benicia, Benicia Public Service Employee Association, her Condominium Home Owners Association and the California Water Environmental Association. Debbie’s main passion was helping to make young girls successful in life to adulthood. Debra was the first born child, and a special gift from The Lord. Born at The Virginia Mason Hospital, in Seattle, WA., on April 2, 1958 to Lester and Patsy Gee. She has two brothers, David and Darin. Debbie from an early age was always involved with her friends and family. She was known for her love of art. She was artistic and had an eye for fashion, design, color co-ordination, beading/jewelry and pottery painting. She also had a big heart for her friends, family and those in need. Her laugh and smile is something many of us will not forget. In fact, if you close your eyes can still hear that laugh and see that smile. Debbie loved cooking and entertaining her family and friends. She liked cooking various foods but cooking Filipino food was one of her favorites. She could make a killer Lumpia. Debbie will be greatly missed by her mother and father (Pat and Les) and friends she brought joy to and those she met. She was described by her friends to be helpful, funny and a great laugh. Those she loved, she loved unconditionally and forever. She will be remembered and missed by many. Debbie was preceded in death by her two loving cats; Tobachoy and Tigger Due to current restrictions on gatherings, two Celebration of Life Services will be conducted in her honor via Zoom. The dates and location of these services are Benicia, California (June 12th; around 2pm) and Federal Way, Washington (June 26th; around 2pm).
