Jan Renee Sherrick

Jan Sherrick passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 after an incredible fight with heart disease. Through to the end, she was a presence and someone to be remembered by all who had the good fortune to know her. Jan was born on March 21, 1974 in Vallejo, California. She grew up in Fairfield, California, where she graduated from Armijo High School. Her love of music and her friends in the Superband were an important an integral part of her entire life. Jan earned a Bachelors of Arts in Journalism from the University of Central Oklahoma. She later earned a Masters of Arts in Criminal Justice also from the University of Central Oklahoma. Jan then went on to earn a Professional in Human Resources certification, which she used throughout her professional career. Jan had a very fulfilling professional career. While in college she worked at AOL, where she rose quickly amongst the ranks. It is at AOL that she met her partner in life, and he supported her through the rest of journey on earth. After earning her degrees, she pursued employment within the Human Resources field. She started at TVR, where she was recognized for her customer service and going the extra mile for each person as a part of just who she was. She went on to be recognized for this outstanding service in each company she has worked with. Most recently, Jan landed in her words “her dream job” at Tinker Airforce Base. She felt valued and a part of a true team while working there. Jan is survived by her loving husband John (Mustang, OK); parents Kenneth and Joanne Miller (Rialto, CA); sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Elmo Kelley (Fontana, CA); her niece Kendall and nephew Carson; beloved aunts and uncles Nancy and Aleck Darr (Sacramento, CA), Roy and Tina Garibaldi (Vallejo, CA), Lynda Garbaldi (Benicia, CA), Donny Miller (Reno, NV), RoseAnn and Dave McCalsin (Kuna, ID), Jimmy and Kandi Miller (Lehi, UT); father-in-law John Sherrick, Sr. (Oklahoma City, OK); and several cousins. Throughout life Jan surrounded herself by a close-knit group of friends. She appreciated each person’s love they had for her and know that you had a special place in her heart, and that you helped to make her journey on earth the most memorable. Jan will find her final resting place in Benicia, California at St. Dominick’s Catholic Cemetery.
