Lorie P. Ricaporte

Lorie Pascual Ricaporte, age 56 of Benicia, California passed peacefully on January 1, 2020 surrounded by her family and loved ones at Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo. She was the beloved daughter of Remedios and Tony Ricaporte. Her sisters are Sonia Ricaporte Killam, Crystal Ricaporte Mendez, and Mona Lisa Pence. She was godmother to Shannon Elizabeth Ramirez, and aunt to Jennifer Dianne Pence, Richard Harley Pence II, Nathanael Patrick Killam, Luke Anthony Killam, and Andrew Cade Killam. Lorie was always proud to say she was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She lived in the East Bay in her early childhood and later moved to Benicia as a teen. She relocated to Phoenix, Arizona for work in 1993. She soon fell in love with the state of Arizona where she made many meaningful friendships. In 2012 she returned to Benicia where she lived for the remainder of her life. Lorie was a diligent employee. She started her career with Santa Fe Pacific Realty Company as a typist and quickly rose through the ranks becoming an executive assistant to the CEO. Soon after she took a job at the Chubb Group of Insurance for the next 12 years eventually taking a position in the Information Technology Department. She moved back to California and took on the roll of caregiver to her sister Sonia’s young children Andrew, Luke, and Nate. She had a special bond with Andrew caring for him from infancy until her time of passing. Lorie enjoyed traveling. She treated her sister and mother to trips to Maui and Kauai. She also enjoyed visits New Orleans for Mardi Gras, New York, the east coast and much more. She was an avid Indy Race Car enthusiast! She would follow her favorite drivers such as Mario Andretti, Michael Andretti, and Raol Bosell. She enjoyed fine dining and wine tasting. She took several trips each year to the Napa Valley and Calistoga spas with her closest friends. A few of her favorites were V Sattui and Bottega. Lorie was a perfectionist when it came to planning and organization using these skills to coordinate her cousins’ and sister’s wedding events considering even the smallest detail with love and care. During the later days of her life she focused on nurturing her closest relationships and caring for her family. Lorie had very close relationships with her friends considering them to be her own family. She spent much of her time with Manang Florence, Ading Marjorie, and cousin Cindy. She also enjoyed many conversations and visits with her niece Angela and her family. She held her friendships with coworkers very dearly; Frances Gonzalez, Christine Meza, Linda Cole, and Mike Hinz to name a few. She is loved and missed by many. A memorial will be held Wednesday January 15, at 11am at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel 901 West 2nd Street Benicia, CA
